fathertide Top 10 of 2008 (part 1)

Today and tomorrow I will be posting my Top 10 moments of the past year.

10. twitter - Thanks to @statedog and @tapdraw I have become fully addicted to twitter (just ask Corrie). Twitter is a way to micro-blog, which means posting thoughts, quotes, or even pictures about what you're doing when you're doing it. You'll notice my 'tweets' on the right-hand side of my blog. (Click on link above for a how-to video.)

9. Wesley House office renovation - This past summer, my friend Michael, my Dad, my father-in-law, and I all worked together (though at different times) to renovate the office area in the Wesley House. I pretty proud of it because I came up with the idea myself, and the end result was just what I imagined.

8. Corrie's last class - This semester Corrie took her last class. It is a major milestone for her as she is now a step closer to her PhD. There is still a lot of work ahead of her, but now she gets to work at her own pace and write about things she really cares about. PLUS, she will no longer be gone from 4:00pm to 6:30pm twice a week - the hardest part of the day to be with a one year old!

7. Blogging - I resisted the urge to start a blog for a long time because I didn't want it to be an instrument of self-promotion. Once I came up with the idea of 'fathertide', it seemed like I finally found the perfect reason to blog. Even though I blog about everything and not just about being a dad...

6. iPhone - Don't make that face. You know how cool it is and how much I wanted one. Yes, the iPhone is a lot of fun, but it is also really useful. I tweet with it, blog from it, update my calendar, update my contacts, find places, find myself, and much much more. Just ask me sometime, I'd love to tell you all about it.
